I am the Head of Payroll for PKF Smith Cooper and am based in the Derby office. I have over 15 years of experience in the payroll industry, most of which is in dealing with SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
What can I do for your organisation?
I ensure that the solution we provide is of the highest quality and that clients remain compliant in the ever-changing world of payroll legislation. My team and I can offer a tailored solution to meet the needs of your business, which can include support and advice on all payroll-related queries.
I began my payroll career in 1999 for Compass Group, where I was in a large team of 70+ payroll professionals. I relocated to Nottingham in 2002 and began working for Clayton & Brewill. I ran their payroll bureau for almost 14 years. During this time, there were many changes, including the introduction of RTI and latterly auto-enrolment.
In January 2016, I started working for PKF Smith Cooper to head up the payroll services department. I strive to make sure that the service we provide will help clients focus on the day-to-day running of their business rather than having to spend their time in dealing with the complexities of payroll rules and regulations.
In 2014 I gained the CIPP qualification in payroll management, which has further enhanced my knowledge and therefore given me the skills required to offer an all-round quality service. I have also passed the Certificate in Pensions Automatic Enrolment through the Pensions Management Institute, which has given me deeper knowledge on this very complex legislation.
My spare time is usually spent ferrying my sports-mad sons to play rugby, football and cricket, to name a few. I play netball for a local team in Nottingham and also follow the highs but more often the lows of Everton FC! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and, when time permits, I also enjoy reading.
