Midlands-based COM Group Limited has been sold to COM Group Telecom Limited after entering administration. Brett Barton, Director of BLB Advisory Limited (a PKF Smith Cooper company), was appointed as Administrator on 14th March 2024 and the business sale was completed shortly afterwards.
Situated in Stratford-upon-Avon, COM Group Limited specialised in telecom surveying and auditing for major UK communications providers from its West Midlands premises. The company had experienced a major downturn in survey and design work since late 2022 following the impact of covid-19, in addition to challenging market conditions throughout 2023.
Former employee of COM Group Limited Jim Hawksworth purchased the business and its assets after it went into administration. A new company, COM Group Telecom Limited, was set up to carry the business forward as a new entity, saving 21 employees from redundancy in the process.
