Midlands-based retail support provider UK Operational Project Support Ltd (UKOPS) has been sold to Euro Operational Project Support Ltd (EuroOPS) as part of a pre-packaged sale, with assistance from Dean Nelson, Head of Business Recovery and Restructuring, securing all jobs within the business.

Established in 2005, UKOPS has 20 years’ experience in the retail operations industry, specialising in building maintenance and facilities management. The Company delivers reliable, high-quality solutions and operates with retailers and businesses nationwide across the UK.

As a result of significant disruption caused by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Company experienced prolonged periods of operational downtime due to retail site closures and paused client activity. These pressures contributed to a financial strain, and Crown arrears, particularly affecting the Company’s cash flow and periodic working capital requirements. Due to pressure applied by HMRC, the Company’s Director sought advice from Dean Nelson with a view to determining options to protect the company’s goodwill, creditors and employees.

Founded in 2011, EuroOPS brings best practice and value for money in the non-merchandise sector and has built an established and reliable reputation with its blue-chip client client base.

All 37 jobs were saved in securing the sale of UKOPS to EuroOPS, with Dean Nelson appointed as Joint Administrator.

Dean Nelson commented:

“I am thrilled with the outcome we have achieved in saving the business as a going concern, securing all jobs and a bright future for the business. Seeking assistance at the first sign of distress is the best way to understand, determine, and secure future options for your business, customers and employees.

Legal advice was provided by Liz Mills at Rothera Bray Solicitors for the Joint Administrators, and Martyn Brierley at Flint Bishop for the purchaser. Support in financing the acquisition was provided by Ben Lavin at Copper Swan, and support in the valuations and advice in relation to offers was provided by Hannah Spibey at John Pye and Sons Limited and Richard Reed at RPRS Limited.
