Shanai King has joined us as our new Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Advisory Director, in response to growing demand from businesses seeking expert advice on managing data, meeting regulatory requirements and using artificial intelligence responsibly.

Shanai will lead the development of PKF Smith Cooper’s GRC advisory service line, working with specialist technology colleagues at PKF Infuse and teams across the wider PKF Smith Cooper Group.
The appointment comes as businesses face increasing pressure to demonstrate that they are protecting sensitive information, managing cyber security threats and complying with the regulations governing how they operate. The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence has added another layer of complexity, with companies increasingly seeking guidance on how to embrace new technology without exposing themselves to unnecessary risks.
Shanai joins PKF Smith Cooper following senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group and Co-op where she led specialist teams across security consultancy, transformation, cloud security engineering, technical assurance and cyber risk. She brings extensive experience of working with global organisations to identify potential risks, strengthen security procedures and help businesses meet their regulatory obligations.
In her new role, Shanai will build our growing governance, risk and compliance advisory services. She will work alongside colleagues across the firm to provide clients with practical, independent advice, supported by PKF Infuse’s cyber security and technology expertise where required.
Paul Howard, Managing Director of PKF Infuse, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, said demand for specialist advice was increasing as businesses grappled with an increasingly complex regulatory and technological landscape.
“Businesses are under more pressure than ever to demonstrate that they are managing their data and compliance responsibly, protecting themselves against cyber threats and meeting their compliance obligations. At the same time, the rapid growth of artificial intelligence is creating huge opportunities, but it also brings new risks and responsibilities that many organisations are still trying to understand. We are seeing growing demand from businesses that want reassurance that they are doing the right things and need practical advice on how to achieve that.”
“Shanai brings a wealth of experience in this area. Her appointment will strengthen the support PKF Smith Cooper provides to clients, helping them manage risk while making the most of new technology. We are delighted to welcome her to the team.”
Shanai commented:
“What really attracted me to PKF Smith Cooper and PKF Infuse was the shared focus on continuous improvement and finding better ways to support businesses. I have always been passionate about building teams and services that make a real difference, particularly by making cyber security, risk and compliance easier for organisations to understand and manage. I am really looking forward to bringing that experience to the team and helping shape how we support clients as their needs continue to evolve.”
