Hallam, the multi-award-winning digital marketing agency based in Nottingham has welcomed two new company directors to the board following their acquisition of minority shareholdings.

The move will see Jake Third, Managing Director, and Ben Wood, Strategy Director, acquire shares of the company, joining CEO Julio Taylor and Technical Director Jon Martin as majority shareholders.

Founded in 1999 by Susan Hallam, Hallam has developed from humble beginnings into Nottingham’s most progressive digital agency, employing a team of over 50 talented specialists. Blending strategic creativity and technical excellence to transform clients’ businesses, Hallam provides a full range of services including SEO, web development and digital strategy, helping clients thrive in a digital world.

Following a management restructure earlier in 2020, Susan and current Financial Director Mike Hallam intend to retire from the firm at the end of the year, although they will still retain a shareholding.

Julio Taylor, CEO at Hallam comments “We are pleased to welcome Jake and Ben as new shareholder directors to the Hallam board, both have been integral figures within the business for a number of years now and contributed immensely to our ongoing success – particularly this year, which has seen our agency overcome its toughest challenges in its 20-year history.”

“Jake and Ben have contributed immensely to the ongoing success of Hallam over the last 6 and 8 years respectively and were instrumental in navigating the challenges facing the agency in the last few months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We extend our thanks to James and the team at Smith Cooper for their excellent support and advice during the last few months. The transaction has gone supremely smoothly, largely thanks to their involvement.”

James Bagley, Managing Partner at Smith Cooper who led the deal comments “We’ve worked with Hallam for many years now and have seen the company transition significantly. Hallam prioritise the personal and professional development of their team, providing ample opportunity for staff to succeed and realise their ambition.”

“The last few months have been immensely challenging for many businesses, Hallam included, yet they continue to go from strength to strength, having made a conscious transition toward the provision of more strategic and consultancy-based services. As a result, they have partnered with some fantastic new clients recently, which has paved the way for continued success and realisation of the firm’s long-term strategy.”

“We look forward to watching the teams continued progression and extend our congratulations to Jake and Ben.”
