As Managing Partner, I focus on ensuring our people, services and advice remain ahead in a rapidly changing business landscape. I work closely with teams across the firm to deliver insight-driven, commercially focused advice that adds real value and creates a lasting impact for our clients.
My focus centres around helping businesses develop and implement effective corporate strategy. I work alongside business owners, directors and shareholders to deliver practical, astute advice that supports their business goals and aligns with their personal and commercial aspirations.
As part of PKF Smith Cooper’s award-winning corporate finance team, I strive to deliver exceptional service quality by building close relationships with clients on both a commercial and personal level. I place strong emphasis on building close, long-term relationships, taking the time to fully understand clients’ objectives, challenges and ambitions before supporting them through the execution of their transactions.
In addition, I form part of PKF Smith Cooper’s specialist audit and assurance division and continue to support a significant portfolio of audit clients, which is where a large proportion of my clients are. I work with businesses of varying size across a broad range of sectors, ensuring they meet their governance, regulatory and reporting requirements.
Experience counts
I joined PKF Smith Cooper as a graduate in 2004from Newcastle University, having obtained a first-class degree with honours in Accounting and Finance from Newcastle University Business School. I joined the Nottingham office in 2010, became a Partner in 2011 and went on to become Managing Partner of the firm in 2016.
Having progressed through the firm from the ground up, I have an innate understanding of the industry and markets in which we operate here at PKF Smith Cooper. This experience enables me to balance strategic leadership with practical client insight, ensuring the firm remains entrepreneurial, client-focused and one step ahead of the changing landscape.
Throughout my career, I have advised clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses to large corporate groups with turnovers in excess of £2100 million. Client service and integrity are central to my approach, and my breadth of experience means I have a clear understanding of the varied risks and challenges businesses face throughout the business life cycle.

Personally speaking
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, particularly my two sons. I enjoy entertaining, (and being entertained) as well as travelling, and sharing new experiences. I am big on sport, particularly water sports, as well as golf and (Après) skiing.
