The Accounting Excellence awards celebrate the very best that the profession has to offer, recognising the greatest contributors to the industry, inspiring best practice and redefining the accounting and finance industry as a whole.
A ‘large firm’ was defined as having 5+ partners/directors or with a £5m+ income, typically with a broad range of service lines and locations across multiple regions.
As part of the criteria, judges sought entries that demonstrated the strength and quality of services provided, a clean client vision, and defining qualities that help firms stand out in a highly competitive market.
David Nelson, Senior Partner at Smith Cooper comments “In 2019, we were ranked as a UK Top 40 Accounting firm by size and the fastest growing (measured by % growth) within the top 50. Whilst growth is a key metric for the firm in assessing the relevance of our business to our core markets, we believe that it should never be at the expense of client service and integrity.”
“All of our team has an absolute focus on adding value to our clients, to be easy to do business with, to deliver on our promises and to protect our reputation by being honest and professional in all we do and by taking responsibility for our actions. By remaining true to our core values, we are able to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and be the best that we can, offering a comprehensive range of services that are likened to much larger competitors, but on a SME friendly scale.”
“I am proud of the team that we have built, each of whom have been pivotal in helping both our clients and ourselves navigate the challenges presented over the last few months.”
The award ceremony, which has been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions, is set to take place on the 2nd of December 2020.
