We have partnered with cloud-based accounting software Xero in a multi-year agreement through the PKF international network. As a Xero Global Partner, we will continue to elevate our service provision through the digitalisation of practices and provide a modern accounting experience that delivers high-quality outcomes for clients.

The global partnership means that Xero has become the preferred cloud accounting solution for PKF network member firms around the world, including PKF Smith Cooper.

Xero’s cloud-based accounting software is specifically designed with the needs of small and medium business owners in mind. It delivers real-time data and financial insights to support accounting firms with informed decision-making and improved outcomes for clients. With the UK government’s Making Tax Digital roll-out deadline extended to April 2026, software like Xero will be key in helping businesses make the transition to digital tax returns and maintaining compliance.

Martin Gadsby, Accounts Partner at PKF Smith Cooper, commented: “We are pleased to announce that PKF Smith Cooper is now a Xero Global Partner, extending our long-term working relationship with one of the world’s leading providers of cloud accounting software. We have already seen great results following the use of Xero within our accounts, audit and VAT services, and have received a lot of positive feedback from clients.

As a future-focused firm with ambitious plans, Xero has been instrumental in digitalising our accountancy services. The future of accountancy will require accounting firms to increasingly embrace digitalisation – commercial success will depend on the ability to seamlessly integrate industry-leading software like Xero into accounting practices to elevate service provision, while still maintaining those close relationships and the personal touch we know our clients value.

Xero’s cloud-based platform opens up opportunities for PKF advisors to drive proactive conversations with clients and help them make insight-led decisions.

“Xero and PKF are incredibly aligned organisations, with a people-first approach to serving small businesses. Partnering at a global and local level will enable us to maximise our meaningful impact on small businesses around the world.
