I have been providing technical audit and accounting support to the external audit team and wider practice since I joined PKF Smith Cooper in March 2022.
Through my role, I help maintain firm-wide compliance with audit related regulatory requirements, ensuring that our clients benefit from well-rounded support.
Alongside providing technical audit support, I contribute to the firm’s ISQM responsibilities by maintaining and monitoring a robust system of quality management. I am also a member of the firm’s Ethics Committee, where I support the oversight of independence and ethical compliance and collaborate with other PKF member firms to ensure effective systems and processes across audit and ethical matters.
Experience counts
I qualified as a chartered accountant over 20 years ago, initially training in a small practice where I gained broad experience across the accountancy practice. I then worked in audit at a large multinational firm, supporting clients across a range of sectors, before spending five years in industry in a CFO role. I returned to practice, when I joined PFK Smith Cooper, in a non-client-facing role.
Deeper knowledge
I have over 15 years’ practice experience working with a variety of clients, from owner-managed businesses to charities and academies. Prior to joining the firm, I spent a period working in industry, which has given me a broader commercial perspective.
Since returning to practice in a technical audit role, I have been supporting the audit team on technical accounting and audit matters and regulatory compliance.
Personally speaking
I am married and have a son who plays cricket for a local team. Outside work, I enjoy reading, especially thrillers and mysteries, baking when time allows and visiting record fairs with my son. I am also an avid ice hockey fan and have been a Nottingham Panthers season ticket holder for over 10 years.
