I am a Tax Senior in the corporate tax team based in our Derby Office.
What can I do for your organisation?
At PKF Smith Cooper I work closely with our accounts and audit team to provide an efficient, accurate and professional corporate tax compliance service, ensuring that our clients meet their corporate tax reporting requirements in a timely manner, as well as maximising all available tax reliefs. As a friendly and approachable individual, I enjoy assisting our clients navigate and understand the complexities of the tax rules.
Experience counts
I have over 25 years of experience within the profession having started my career in audit and accountancy at a mid-tier firm in London, before specialising in corporate tax and qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser.
Following a move back up to the Midlands, I joined a ‘Big 4’ firm in Leicester in their corporate tax compliance team, managing the compliance and tax accounting requirements of a range of clients from owner-managed businesses to PLCs. I also spent a short period at a boutique tax planning practice before moving to a mixed tax compliance and advisory role at a practice in Derby.
Deeper knowledge
I have significant experience in providing both corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients, focusing mainly on private owner-managed businesses. My advisory experience includes preparation of R&D tax relief claims, capital allowance claims on property acquisitions and refurbishments, as well as transactional tax matters e.g. reorganisations, corporate sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence and legal document review.
Personally speaking
Outside of work I enjoy yoga and walks with our slightly crazy cocker spaniel. I am also part of a book club with friends, although my children call it wine club!
