An East Midlands based children’s day care nursery has been sold, securing its future in what has been a period of exponential challenge for those operating in the private childcare sector.

Formerly known as Kiddiewinks, the newly renamed Beeches Park Children’s Day Nursery is a fully integrated day care nursery and pre-school, which provides quality childcare and education for babies aged 0 – 12 months and children aged 1 to 12 years. Based in Burton-on-Trent, the nursery opened its doors in 2012 and boasts a good reputation locally, rated ‘good’ in Ofsted’s most recent report. It has capacity for almost 70 childcare places and is equipped with a highly qualified team of 14.

The owners of Kiddiewinks sought advice from Midlands based accountants and advisors Smith Cooper to formulate a plan to assist in the sale of the Nursery. The team at Smith Cooper conducted an accelerated M&A sales processes to market the nursery, following which there were several expressions of interest, resulting in a successful sale.

The nursery was sold to Abby and Marcus Litting, owners of The Old Forge Children’s Day Nursery, based in Findern, South Derbyshire.

In light of the successful sale, Abby comments:

“The transaction has been smooth and quick, and we have been impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved. We look forward to what the future holds at Beeches Park Children’s Day Nursery, and will continue to provide a safe, fun and homely environment to ensure the very best start for the children who join us.”

Dean Nelson, a Partner at Smith Cooper comments “We’re delighted to have secured a prompt sale for value – Abby and Marcus are both well experienced in their respective field, and I’ve no doubt the nursery will continue to flourish under their ownership and continue to provide vital day care services for children across the region.”
