I can provide frank and honest advice on all aspects of business recovery and restructuring, whether it is you, your business or a customer who is currently experiencing financial or operational difficulties.

Experience counts

I have almost 20 years’ experience working in restructuring and insolvency, having started my career in 2006. I began in this field with a small restructuring boutique in the historic city of York, before returning to the East Midlands and joining PKF Smith Cooper in 2009.

Since then, I have progressed through the firm to my current role as Appointment-taking Director, advising businesses and individuals across a wide range of insolvency and business recovery matters. I have extensive front-line experience working with directors, stakeholders and creditors to deliver practical solutions in challenging circumstances.

Deeper knowledge

In addition to my professional insolvency experience, I hold a degree in Physics from the University of York. While the subject matter itself does not feature heavily in my day-to-day work, the analytical and problem-solving skills developed during my studies are central to my approach to restructuring and recovery.

I am ACCA qualified and have completed the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB) qualification, becoming a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in February 2025. I combine technical expertise with a calm, measured approach that clients value during challenging situations.

I take great pride in the quality of work we deliver and the outcomes we achieve for clients. I am particularly proud of the occasions where we have successfully restructured businesses, protected value for creditors, and preserved jobs.

Personally speaking

I am a proud mum to my son and daughter and enjoy balancing family life with a busy professional role.

Outside of work, I am actively involved in local charitable organisations and currently chair the Derbyshire Brain Game Committee, which raises funds for Marie Curie. I also enjoy keeping active, playing padel and badminton, and have recently taken up netball.
