Since joining Sibbalds Chartered Accountants on an apprenticeship at the age of 18, I spent 7 years balancing personal development and gaining experience across a wide range of companies and sectors. With a 5 year stint involved here in the audit of SME’s alongside continued statutory accounts, company secretarial and management accounts preparation for companies of all sizes from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies I have gained a real mix of experience in several areas of accountancy.
In December 2023 I finished my final ICAEW ACA qualification and became an ICAEW ACA Chartered accountant, and with this I have progressed to use my development to further expand the quality of the work I am able to provide to my clients.
Deeper knowledge
My specialisms lie in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises spanning a wide range of industries from manufacturing and construction to charities. Strong experience in audits, compliance, Statutory and management accounts and Software migration/ integration also provide me with tools to perform a number of varied services with skills picked up from many areas of accounting along the way.
Personally speaking
Away from the office I keep myself busy with a variety of sports with basketball and squash being my go to’s. In recent times an obsession with any and all racquet based sports has kept me busy and when that isn’t doing the trick I turn to football, within which I support Arsenal – a decision made as a child that has turned out to not have been so bad in recent years. I also have a soft spot internationally for Besiktas.
Outside of sport I am a big fan of hiking and spend a lot of my weekends in the peak district and the surrounding areas, this combined in recent times with an interest in travelling and more specifically travelling to historically important sites across the world has lead me to some very interesting and beautiful places.
With any free time left from the above I have a great interest in producing music and for the last 10 years I have been creating rap styled beats (beats only) for my own entertainment as a hobby using some equipment I have picked up over the years and my laptop. A niche but interesting learning process.
