Hello…
I joined PKF Smith Cooper in May 2022 as an Assistant Indirect Tax Manager and am now an Indirect Tax Manager, based in the Nottingham office.
What can I do for your organisation?
From VAT returns, supply chain mapping, to advice on complex or contentious areas of VAT. I am highly experienced with a broad range of backroads in VAT and indirect tax which uniquely places us in the position to advise on common or very niche areas.
Experience counts
My career in tax began as a tax collector for HMRC in 2014. I was later promoted and offered a position as a VAT inspector in 2016. I later left HMRC to work for a specialist tax consultancy and dispute team within one of the largest fee protection insurance providers in the UK.
In that role I assisted clients with VAT disputes with HMRC, covering in person visits, ADR meetings and preparing cases for the Tribunal. When I wasn’t out on the road representing clients, I would carry out complex VAT advisory work largely focusing on reports for solicitors or CFOs.
From there I moved into practice working for a top 10 firm that specialised in charities and not-for-profits. Finally, I made the move to PKF Smith Cooper in May 2022.
Deeper knowledge
I have extensive experience in representing clients during HMRC inquires and engaging counsel when necessary.
Beyond litigation, I regularly advise clients on land and property transactions, partial exemption matters, supply chain mapping and UK customs.
Personally speaking
Outside of work I have a great family I love spending time with. Getting away from the desk and being out on country walks is definitely a favourite of mine too. Beyond that I enjoy cycling, Pilates (great for the back!) and reading.
