As part of the next stage of our continued growth and strategic development, we have launched new core values, underpinning our continued ambitions for the firm and our team members.

Established in 1985, we have experienced significant growth over recent years expanding our reach through new locations, service lines and specialisms. We are currently ranked the 41st largest UK firm in the Accountancy Age Top 50+50.

James Bagley, Managing Partner at Smith Cooper comments:

“The firms continued growth has necessitated the need to formalise our vision, mission and values. The introduction of the values will enable the firm to accelerate growth in partnership with our team and our clients.”

“We want to ensure that the whole of our dedicated and committed team understand the ambitions of the business, and the vital role that each of them plays in its delivery.”

As part of the launch of new core values, we have also introduced several new initiatives, intended to bolster our approach to learning and development, and the health and wellbeing of our team. Some of the new initiatives include a focus on corporate social responsibility including charitable volunteering opportunities, peer-to-peer recognition awards scheme, a new flexible working policy, sabbaticals and additional holiday for service and birthdays.

David Nelson, Senior Partner at Smith Cooper adds:

“Our vision – to aspire to be the leading provider of accounting and advisory services to the owners of ambitious, forward thinking businesses within our core regions – has always been at the heart of what we do.  We recognised the need to really underpin this with a set of core values which complement the vision, and which provide a framework for people to judge us as individuals, and as a business.”

“We recently held a series of discussion sessions with our team, focusing on the values and what they mean to them. The feedback from these sessions has been invaluable in helping further develop our culture”.

“As we enter the next stage of our vision, we are keen that we don’t lose the key attributes that make Smith Cooper the business it is, both internally and externally”.
