Having worked in both industry and practice, I’m able to bring a more balanced approach when working closely with clients. I’ve experienced first‑hand the demands and pressures on the other side of the table, and I understand how different priorities fit together in real‑world situations.
I’m always happy to talk through queries, share perspectives, and work collaboratively to find the best approach.
Experience counts
I started in September 2019, just before COVID, joining Mazars as a school leaver within the Audit team. I spent almost six years there, working across a wide range of clients and gaining strong technical grounding before transferring into industry.
For the past year, I’ve been working as a Group Financial Accountant within the housebuilding sector, which has given me valuable insight into how finance operates from the inside of a business.
I’m now looking forward to bringing the knowledge I’ve gained from both practice and industry into this new role, and I’m excited for the transition back into practice.
Deeper knowledge
During my time in audit, I worked with a wide range of clients, including organisations in the social sector such as a zoo, as well as privately owned businesses and PE‑backed companies across a variety of industries. This gave me exposure to different operating models, reporting requirements, and stakeholder expectations, which really strengthened my technical and commercial understanding.
More recently, my time in the housebuilding sector has given me insight into the niche areas and specific accounting treatments unique to the industry, adding another layer of practical experience to my skill set.
Personally speaking
Outside of work, I play badminton and six‑a‑side football every week, and I also enjoy playing padel whenever we’re able to get a court at a reasonable time. I’m also a big fan of trying new restaurants and exploring different foods, so I’m always on the lookout for new places to visit.
