This year we have pledged to raise money for Ben’s Den, a small children’s charity in Ilkeston making a big impact on families affected by cancer or leukaemia.

A toddler is walking on the beach towards the sea. The child's back is to the camera. The child is holding an orange bucket.

As part of our ongoing commitment to fundraising, we decided to choose a ‘charity of the year’ to support. Following a firm-wide vote, we are pleased to announce that we will be supporting Derbyshire children’s charity Ben’s Den.

Over the next twelve months, our offices across the Midlands will join forces to raise as much money as possible to help fund the charity’s invaluable work.

About Ben’s Den

Ben’s Den gives children suffering from leukaemia or cancer and their families some respite by funding seaside holidays.

The charity was set up in memory of Ben Parker in 2004, who sadly passed away the previous year following a battle with leukaemia. During Ben’s battle with cancer, his parents realised the value of family time and breaks from hospital stays.

Through the charity’s tireless work over the past 18 years, countless families have benefitted from the opportunity to make memories together in Ben’s Den’s fleet of caravans on the Mablethorpe coast.

Tracey Darren from Ben’s Den said, “We’re very grateful for the support that PKF Smith Cooper is offering. We know how much time and effort goes into organising these events. Any funds raised will mean that we can keep providing holidays for children and families, giving them much-needed breaks.”
